BD Winter Champs wildcards are out.

I was hoping Jlav would get through in novice freestyle,but she is not in ,yet they have put 4 restricted through in the other section and that rider came 15th ,just shows its hard to be open at any level!

Yes, it really is a different world.

Interestingly in the Advanced Medium restricted there are loads of wild cards been given and ALL are under the nec. 65% normally required to get through to the Championships.
I'm guessing that there weren't sufficient direct qualifiers to make a class.

I noticed that there are absolutely loads in the restricted and some with low %s too!

I dont mean to be dim on this, but how do they work out how many go through? Just out of interest..is it that they want roughly 20 in each class or do they tot up the amount of horses in every region say for Novice Restricted, 200 for instance and then do a percentage??

Wow, Jacky Stolper got wildcards, she'll be busy as I think she qualifed in about 5 classes!!

At what level? My understanding was you couldn't compete in both, you had to choose Regional or Area??

If it's a different horse or same horse but higher level at AF then you can do both.

She's in the Advanced Medium AF Final.

Thanks Freestyler and THE_carthorse. I knew the percentages at Myerscough had been very high in the feestyles so wasn't really expecting one.

I shall still be at Hartpury though with Georgie in the Petplan Novice Open and Huddson in the Petplan Medium Open.

I wondered what they would do about the Advanced Medium Restricted class as alot of the regionals were won on only 64% which, as Bananaman pointed out, is below the necessary Championship score. I'm surprised that wildcards have been offered down to scores of 62% but I suppose they had to do that to make a class. I reckon it's about time they raised the qualifying score at Medium and Advanced Medium as 63% is too low I think.
