I've tried to watch a few on Youtube but none of the angles the videos are taken from really answer my question.

On both canters it says 20m circle at C (or A) then trot at X. Presumably you continue the circle when you are in trot? I've seen a few where it looks like they are going straight from X and into the corners and I can't work out if its just the video angle or you stop circling when you transition down to trot at X

I need to practice it and given canter is a bit 'cob in forward calvary charge' still I'd like to know what I'm supposed to be riding (especially as there are so many short diagonals my brain hurts)

It's been a few years since I rode it but yes, you carry on to complete the circle in trot after transitioning down from canter.

It's not a test I particularly like I have to say, although I seem to say that about a lot of them!

great - thank you

I'm hoping it will flow better when I ride it than when I read it. All the short turns were throwing me until I watched some videos of it.

Also will be doing it in an arena which slopes uphill so that will be a new experience.....

Yep - loads of people do 1/2 a 20m circle then just ride the corners for the 2nd half. Or ride a 20m circle to A or C and don’t then ride the corner after A or C. Clear distinction between the circle but and the corner bit seems tricky for a lot of riders.

Perfect!

What is that from?
It’s the BE test pro app. You pay a certain amount monthly or annually for access to it and has diagrams for all the tests. Plus you can draw them out and it can also read them I think.

It’s probably very expensive for what it is, considering the PDFs of the tests are free but my brain doesn’t work without diagrams 😅

That's worth knowing if we get beyond 20m circles. This is the first BE test I've needed to do and my huh? What? started up the centre line when I realised it wasn't straight on from x.
