Does anybody know who are our new Board Members following the AGM on Sunday? I know Les Smith has been re-appointed (Yipee) but not sure about the others.

Les would like to thank everybody who voted for him which is much appreciated. He was top of the vote!

I don't know.

I do find it rather amusingly ironic that the powers that BE moan that the membership doesn't care, doesn't bother to get involved and doesn't use its vote - and then they can't even be bothered to update the website to tell us who got voted in!

Yeah, at least there is now a chance of sensible things happening north of the border!

It's all on EWW:
Amanda Ratcliffe, Les Smith and Nigel Taylor were elected to the Board, the full results are:

Nigel Taylor 423
Amanda Ratcliffe 267
Josephine Carr 213
Peter Collins 210
Nicholas Burd 164
Peter Durrant 116
Philip Kerr 92
Simon Gower 51

Thanks for that EWW - on the ball as ever!

Shame BE couldn't do the same! ;)

Well done Les!!!

He has done a huge amount for Scottish and British Eventing - partly because he is totally in touch with everyone! Nearly everyone in Scotland knows him - and he knows nearly everyone by name!!!

He teaches so many people of all standards and ages, and while he is doing that, he listens to what they have to say - this has to be the best way forward for BE.

It is interesting that Les got the most votes in the elections - I think this indicates that, not only is Les a popular representative, but that Scotland is determined to show their commitment to the sport and to BE!

It is definitely more difficult to be a competitor (major or minor!) if you live in the extremities of the UK, just from a logistical point of view, but without the efforts of Les (and many other unsung heroes i'm sure!) we would have an even more uphill struggle. :):)
