BE entries back if canceled?

Maybe silly question but do u get ur entry fee back if an event is canceled, rule book mentioned something abt 40%, thank u

but it takes time to order cheque books & write 500 cheques (voice of experience)

I had my entry back yesterday for Nutwell Court. I received the full amount and i think it was incredibly speedy. Very impressed!!

Do venues actually cash cheques BEFORE the event? I assumed they held onto all of them until after the event and then cashed them - so in cases like cancellations, they'd just destroy the cheque...?
