BE entries...

So now BE has started up, entries are huge!

With 105 entered so far for the 80 at Frickley, I'm expecting to be balloted out . Can I try entering another event for the same weekend or is this not the done thing? Offchurch has much less entries so far, so wondering if I could 'hedge' my bets by entering there too?

Or do I just suck it up that I'm never going to actually get to an event and I'm cursed in all things eventing ...

As far as I’m aware the max number of starters hasn’t been defined by BE - it’s probably decided on a risk basis per event.

Under normal circumstances Frickley isn’t at capacity on entries yet (subject to the above) so it’s not a given you will be balloted. If you are then looking at off church you will get a late entry (although I’d wonder if it was financially viable to run off church as it stands).

Always a bit of a gamble playing the entries game, but I’d sit tight on Frickley for now.

You could double enter but as they both have same ballot date then if accepted at both you will need to concede an entry fee

Interesting thank you, I wasn't sure on the capacity aspect being a newbie to the sport just expecting the worst. It would be my luck to enter both and get balloted from both or accepted in both . Hadn't thought of a late entry at Offchurch though, that's a good shout, might sit tight and see what happens...

If you do go to Offchurch- it's absolutely lovely. The ground will be perfect.
