Make sure you tap stud holes, and plug them the day before. Makes it much easier when you get there just to screw them in.
Same here, definately saves time on the day especially if you have a faffy/excited horse at the event. Make sure you take a selection of rugs (and jackets) with you because even if its a lovely sunny morning when you leave, it'll likely be peeing rain when you get there! Always take extra's of things in case something breaks, like I always keep a spare set of shoes (horse ones that is!), reins and stirrup leathers in my box. The other thing I MUST have is the dressage test and I keep it on my mother (aka groom!) so I can get her to whip it out when I'm warming up and have forgotten a part of the test (happens regularly with me).
Time-saving wise, I normally load my stuff into a box in the back of the car, but put stuff in the order you want to take it out (ie. dressage stuff first, then SJ etc.).
