I don't agree that someone is making a lot of money. BE costs far more to run than BS, I don't know what the fees are for joining BE & registering your horse, but BS is £200 per year for rider & one grade C horse, £110 for 6 months, to register a grade A is much more expensive, so you could argue that a pro with several Grade A's is subsidising the prize money for amatuers like me with one Grade C.
Perhaps BE could introduce a free ticket system at some events as BS do to encourage new members, but with the huge costs involved in runnning events the money has to come from somewhere, a pro with 8 horses will be spending far more with BE than an amateur one horse rider, so why should the one horse person get a discount when in fact they are spending far less than the pros?
