Ive recently bought an XL as Id read they come up small. My horse is in between a cob and full size and dainty, so I was sure it would fit but it wont fasten. The guide online, (not the shop it came from, they ddnt have one) says for a large horse, the next size up is for a warmblood/large mule! , when it arrived its an XL but the label says average cob, horse, TB. Im a bit miffed as I now need to pay to send it back and get a refund or pay to send it back and pay again for a larger one to be sent out.
Theres a few on Ebay, I think the old series but no XXL. I just wondered if anyone knew if the sizing is the same for series 1 and series 2. I cant seem to find any size chart for the older series.

Have you tried shortening the part you fasten the lead rope to by moving the fittings. I did that and it gave enough extra rope to make it large enough to fasten where it had been a couple of inches off before
 
Thanks Gloi, I looked at that but theres not enough room for adjustment and to leave enough for it to release, plus the knots are practically on her cheekbone, if I managed to fasten it, its that small. I definately need the size up, but XXL large Mule/Warmblood?? She fits in a cob sized bridle lol.
Thanks Shay, I would really prefer the Be Nice, shes not horrendous, but can get a bit giddy strong and just needs a bit of respect for my old bones lol
 
I use simialr ones for all sorts of reasons on mine - not criticism for its use. But I have found the sizing for them to be erratic at best and if you can't fit them correctly they don't release and so can be anything but nice! (And entirely accept there are control headcollars far worse too!!) I find the duallys easier to fit and use - but if you prefer a rope one either persist with sending them back until you hit on one with the size you need or have a look at other makes for the same thing. There are several available. Or a simple cattleman's rope can be effective and entirely self sizing!
 
I bought mine from Urban Horse and their website tells you how to measure. My foal was in a M average pony and later as a yearling in a L , Arab small cob. Measure from bottom of cheekbone, over poll to bottom of opposite cheekbone and ADD 2 - 3 inches.
