i quite often don't walk it!
i scare myself too much
but they have breaks where they let people walk the course - announced on the tannoy usually

Depeneds how early your times are in comparison to when the SJing starts...you at Aston?! PM me your times, will have to meet up! AM no. 715....

I have never walked the course at a BE event! I dont usually have time, I just watch a few go round. I think maybe if I was competing Intermediate I might like to as there are a few more technical distances but I never have done at Intro/PN or Novice

Don't generally get the chance to walk it.
I'm better when I haven't walked a SJ course anyway! (only jumping up to 1m, it probably becomes more necessary after that)
If a course walking breaks matches my timing I would walk it, other than that I'd just watch a few go round.

Hardly ever walk the sj track.
Have done a few times at intermediate but generally just makes me more nervous so I watch a few jump instead, from different positions around the arena if possible

If I happen to be around when a course walk is available I'll always take the opportunity, but more often than not, as the others have said, I'll just watch a few go round and count a few strides. Good tip from Boss about trying to watch from a few different positions too.
