BE U18 Membership Query ..

Is a rider under 18 permitted to be the 'Owner' of their own horse they are competing or does the parent have to register as the owner ?
Else I am assuming the under 18 rider has to pay for a 'full membership' and the parent an 'owner membership' ?

The parent has a free 'Associate' registration and has already pre-authorised the child (because they are under 18).

The rider will only be competing in one BE event before the end of the season and has not yet registered a membership so hoping to get a Day Pass & then arrange a full membership for next year. The horse is already registered but at the moment only with the previous owner so we need to change the owner details.

They can be - I’m looking at a 15 or 16yo rider competing at 90 and the horse is registered with her as owner.

I was an associate member (free) which enabled me to be named as owner when mine was competing at 80 with other riders.

Its complicated!

I sold my big horse to an U18 and they are down as the owner, not the parent

Yep my daughter was owner when under 18
