Having watched a Young Rider's Video Diary this morning they referred to their plans for the 2011 season with a young horse as doing a couple of 'Intros' and then some 'Pre Novices'........is it me or should we change the class name back cos it appears that BE 100 and BE 90 has never gone into the memory bank? And for those doing BE80's what about calling them Pre Intro....clear as mud!

Any thoughts on this??

Well i'm one who still calls them PN/ Intro but at the same time understand what 100/90/80 is - like i'm sure most do ;)

Personally i never understood the need to change it but if BE are thinking of changing it back i'd rather they didn't as I'm sure it will cost money!!!
Money which could be put into keeping events running/ prize money at Grassroot level

I guess it means that people who are looking to move into eventing will understand the classes as it is confusing to a newcomer that novice isn't actually a novice!

BS intro shows, consist of 80 - 1m classes so I guess it make sense to run alongside this line of thinking.

I still call them intros, but newbys have been calling them 90's and my hubby only knows them as 90's and hates me calling them intros!

I guess its like the snickers, opal fruits thing!

imo it only makes sense to call them 90's and 100's if you continue that up the levels.

it makes no sense at all for the bottom 3 levels to be referred to by size and then you go into Novice.

perhaps they need to be more radical still and either use numbers for all or rename them all and start from the bottom.

i agree!! .. and if it costs more.. keep the same,... PLEASE!! :D:o

i still call them intro and PN... i agree that it doesn't make sense if you the go onto novice, intermediate etc. its not as if BSJA (can't get used to BS either!) and BD are any clearer- i mean...Discovery and Newcomers?! :D

Before they changed the system, I had the order perfectly in my head - now they've changed it I get confused either way. Luckily it's far more simple than BS (JA :rolleyes ) I genuinely have no idea what system they have there!
