Hi

I want to take my girlie to the beach in a couple of weeks time - i am in berkshire so thinking sussex/hampshire that sort of area.

Can anyone recommend any good beaches where horse riding is allowed, horsebox parking available etc?

I have found a few in dorset but they only appear to allow access before 9am and after 9pm

i also know of some lovely ones in Norfolk but they are a bit far away for a day trip!!

I have checked various websites and googled endlessly but there is no really obvious suggestions unless i want to go on a 'riding holiday' i dont! i just want a good gallop in the sea!!

Any beach names or suggestions very gratefully received would love your recommendations if you have had a good time!

thanks so much!!

Im in Berkshire and im considering goign to Holkam(sp?:S) beach in Norfolk and staying somewhere over night as liek you im struggling with times and stuff

West Wittering is ace - lots of sandy beach for a good gallop. You have to park at the riding school right by the beach rather than the car park as they don't allow livestock in there. We just phoned in advance to the RS and gave the lady a courtesy £5 for parking there (she didn't ask for anything).

Sorry, I'm no help because I'm based in Norfolk, but if antone ever oragnises a few days down here to go on the beaches give me a bell because I have no one to go with atm!

Hiya

My folks have a holiday home near Holkham and i have holidayed there (without horse) ever since i was 2 it is the most amazing beach ever and i really really want to take my girl up there, would be an awesome ride... i think i know some yards where they would rent out a field at least .. its a good 3 1/2 - 4 hours in a lorry to be honest as not much motorway towards the end of the journey

Maybe we should arrange a trip :-)

Will look into the other suggestions mentioned and let you know if they look any good - as you are in m'head you are welcome to share a lift - i keep my girl in Winkfield

Golddustsara - I don't suppose you have a number or name for the riding school do you??? Is it close to the beach??? We were hoping to get down to Bracklesham this weekend for a beach ride, but the car park we were going to use has been jam-packed lately so don't really want to risk not being able to park!!!

It's called Cakeham (and not really a riding school, more of a livery yard) Phone number is: 01243 672194

Postcode is PO20 8LG

Thanks Teapot!!! Very much appreciated. I know we can park at Bracklesham (a surfing friend sees trailers there all the time) but the carpark gets extremely busy and as we're coming from surrey don't want to risk getting there and not being able to park!!!!!
