does anyone know of any good places to go beach riding in cornwall am off on my jollys in september and fancy doing something a bit different thanks

Perranporth is pretty good, it is a huge beach, 2 miles long when the tides out a bit, don't know anywhere else i'm afraid.

I go to Gwithian, in the evening at this time of year, cos after 6pm the parking police have gone home and i can get my lorry in the car park for free!! If the tide is out the beach is 3 miles long and the neddies love galloping on it ( OH tends to squeak a bit at the speed, my gee gee is an ex national hunt racer so we don't hang around) There can be a few surfers about, my horses are used to them popping up out of the surf and they add to the view!! Gwithian is also good when the tide is in.
Marazion also has a big beach but really only rideable when the tide is out, it is not so quiet as Gwithian.
Hope this gives you some ideas, and have fun when you come to lovely Cornwall.

Didnt realise you could ride on Perranporth, is that all year round? I ride at widemouth sadly only half the year though! we have ridden on Par beach but not overly fab! Will be trying gwithian this year, is it near Hayle St Ives?

Hi, you can ride on perranporth all year round, but in the summer you do have to be sensible, they dont mind you going on it early morning or later in the evening, I use it at least once a week for galloping, the dunes are great for getting them fit. Gwithian is also a fantastic beach, but not sure how strict they are with times allowed etc, ditto Marazion beach in Penzance :)
