Does anyone know of a beach you can ride on in the Hampshire/West Sussex area?
We know of Hayling Island but I think we can only ride after 7 and it's getting a bit dark now!
Thanks for any help.

West Wittering I believe you can ride on....gorgeous sandy beaches...hmmm!!
I'm sure you can ride after 6pm on hayling I know I have done in the past...check with the wardens done there...it's all to do with the tide times....
Oh and have a great time!!!

West Wittering is the best beach for riding imo. Lots of sand for miles.

ETA You can park in a nearby riding school if you ring and ask first but livestock not allowed in the main carpark.

or if you go down the road a bit you can park at bracklesham bay carpark for free. climping beach is also nice. all beaches in this area are subject to the foreshore rule which means from the 1st of april to the 30th of September you are only allowed on the beach after 6pm and before 7am

Oh, can I come?

West Wittering is lovely but make sure you are aware of the tides and places to exit it from as you can only exit at certain points. I got caught once by the tide coming in rather quickly when riding from WW down to Bracklesham, my fault entirely thinking it was going out not coming in.

I agreee with wittering!! It's fab.
Used to have my horses on livery in bognor years ago and we used to ride along the beach there at low tide which was surprisingly lovely, once lost a rider in the sea and her horse did a runner up the sea front and ended up outside the amusements being fed chips by tourists - don't reccomend that!

I have ridden from Ferring. There is lots of parking, however you do need to ride over a bit of shingle to get to the sandy bit. Do make sure you check the tide times though as I rode along the beach too far and by the time I got back there was only just enough beach left to make a swift exit!
