beach riding

i know you ca only rid eon beaches between certain months, but apart from that can you just go there, or is there anyone you have to contact.
i am just enquiring as it isnt just a hack down the road for us, so dont want to travel all the way there and not be able to do it!

Check the website of the local authority, that should give you information on access. Don't forget to check tide times as well!

You need a permit to ride on Studland beach near us but it is quite reasonable for a day pass.

I go to Camber Sands and between October and March you can just turn up, but the other months you have to phone the Coastal Control Officer, and it’s at his discretion.

Desert_Flame ...its at studland beach i want to go to, as my friend keeps her pony near there. where do i find out more information about going there then?

I've been there with the riding school a few times and it's fab. My friend and I were looking at taking our horses over there last week funnily enough. It's £8 a day for the studland beach permit. Or £40 for the season! Link below.

we have free access to redcar and saltburn beach. It can sometimes be heaving in the summer especially near the pier, but as a rule, its excellent!
