I know this has been done to death BUT I've been forced into making this post by another user............

I've managed to rope a wonderful relative into taking us to the beach for a day out! I don't want to have to go miles, the closer with horse access the better!

We were orginally going to go over towards Skeg but they only allow access up until 31st March. (Unfortunately my Uncle can't take us until after then!)

We know Holkham is supposed to be good but I'm slightly concerened about dragging my uncle the whole way and then the horses being complete wallys if there is somewhere accessible and closer??

Any info greatly appreciated!

Haha I shouldn't let other users force me into buying things I don't need either........... I can't help it if I'm easily led!!!

Plus if we get some helpful answers it will cut down my time on works internet this afternoon!!

heacham?? Try hunstanton council, they'll be able to help you (I know there's lots of places near there) , and there's places in norfolk too.

Try the BHS too, I'm sure they do a publication about beaches.

You my dear are fantastic!!

I have just realised why I have a psycho mare and you have a cute little beastie, you have brains and intelligence!

I knew the BHS really, I was just testing everyone................

Keltic - Yeah I looked at cleethorpes but it is apparently crap??

My Grey Horse - I've just stumbled across Theddlethorpe - Saltfleet which looks promising, I was going to call the council to clarify they were all year round?

You can go to Holkham all year and anytime; Loads of parking ( I think £10 for the day) I took my pony in September and had a blast! There is so much room to canter without getting in anyone's way!
It took 2 and a quarter hours from Market Harborough

PMSL!!!
I grew up riding on that beach every day!! I learnt to jump over the breakwaters and swam my pony in the sea!!
Its a great beach to ride on and plenty of parking for boxes and no restrictions as to when you can go etc There is plenty of space for a good gallop etc and little places to stop for ice cream

Where ever you go you will have a great time im sure!! Im taking my cob to Cleethorpes this year and cant wait now i live in Derby i do miss the sea

Oooh I'm glad you just said that, I found Cleethorpes and was like oooh fantastic that will do, then stumbled across some random forum and everyone was saying it was rubbish and muddy etc etc!

I think the ice cream has swung it for me............
