I ordered a horka beagler a while ago and after sending me the wrong colour and size twice the right one finally arrived yesterday. The first two looked quite nice but they were navy, the black one has arrived and I am not really that happy with it, the velvet looks so thin and has already rubbed away a bit on the peak. Ok you won't notice it from a distance but I am worried it will wear really quickly and I will end up regretting it and buying an expensive charles owen anyway. Is it false economy shall I just fork out the extra £50 for the Charles Owen? Just seems like so much money for a hat........

Ive got the charles owen one and its definately worth the money. Mine hasnt got worn/fadded and ive had it over a year now and worn it in all weathers!!

I like my Charles Owen one and opted for that over the Horka. However, was rather cunning and managed to get it for Christmas and not fork out for it myself!

Why dont you send it back and tell them your just not happy with it and you want a refund.
I bought a 2nd hand charles owen beagler that was described as "looked brand new" for £30!

Yeah think I am going to, just been such a mission to get the dam thing, taken over a month with them sending me the wrong ones, getting the wrong delivery from holland etc etc but just have a feeling I am not going to be happy with it. Guess I should know by now that 'you get what you pay for!'

Has my beagler from Charles Owen for around 5 or 6 years now and it still looks as good as new.
I would sent it back hon and tell um youre not happy with the quality.

Another Charles Owen fan here! Gorgeous fabulous hat and very comfortable. It always makes me feel good when I put it on. The velvet is plush and lovely. I'd say it is well worth they money (but mine was a present!).

I ordered a Horka and the quality was poor so forked out for a charles owen and I love it! Looks really smart

TBH for the amount of uses they are likely to get, as more places are cracking down on using them, unless you compete every weekend at Dressage (affil) of BE the cheaper ones are more than good enough IMO. I couldnt justify paying extra for a hat that will be used for 10 mins at a time

That was what I originally thought and the first hat they send was actually not bad quality but I am bored with sending them back now and this one is awful. I compete aff dressage twice a month so it will get used and I am worried with all the carryign about etc it will get rubbed and worn as the velvet really isn't very good quality. I do agree the CO are very expensive but I will have it for many years to come I hope!
