I hope to do some showing in the summer with my 'gypsy' piebald cob. I have a lovely green tweed kacket, which is quite plain, no large checks, with a dark green velvet collar. I plan to wear a light yellow shirt with either a green or yellow tie - can't decide which. Any opinions?
My main question is about the hat - I don't have a proper velvet one but can get one for my birthday - question is, which one and what colour? I want one with a flesh harness but I'm not really fond of navy, especially with green, but am not sure if black would be ok, especially brand new! Though I'm sure I could fade it a bit. I love green hats and the colour suits me but I'm not sure if its acceptable for adults to wear in the ring, as you tend to see kids in different coloured hats. I also like grey but not sure if it would match and probably won't look very proffessional if its brand new. I have had a look at the the CO H2000 & H2000 Square which are popular in the showing ring but look enormous on me as I have quite a big head! The Showjumper version doesn't too bad but I would like a more traditional beagler - where can I get one?
On another note, what is the correct term for hairy gypsy cobs, as far as showing goes - is it 'Traditional'?
Thanks!
