I posted last week about our eventing exploits and how we had overcome my nemesis course Gt witchingham!

Well this weeks installment is uber exciting!! I headed off to keysoe yesterday all on my todd, it was the first time ive taken him eventing completely on my own, i dont normally have grooms but i usually end up giving a friend a lift so it was a little lonely just me and bear!!

First up stressage he performed what i thought was a lovely sweet test i even got a few comments from random people who were watching which was lovely!! Judge also agreed and we scored 32.8! :D one phase down 2 to go!!

Swapped gear over and headed to the sj armed with even more new tactics from an awesome sj lesson in the week we stormed round for a clear!!

Some pics which have been purchased for sole use on the internet:

So with 1 phase left we headed towards the xc start! I was a little nervous mainly due to how nappy he was at gt witch fences 2, 3 and 4 were all on curving lines in trees so could cause napping issues!! My plan was to ride like i stole it!! I revved him up in the start box and we shot out, only to come to a grinding halt about 3 strides later! This is the earliest he's napped usually we at least get over fence 1!! I growled at him and gave him a slap so he knew i meant business! We scrambled over 1 and then hit our rhythm i rode the next 4 fences really strongly just to make sure! He was flying by now over the double at 5 and a long gallop down to 6 over the ditch no problems and onto the corner flew that and down the next double which included a drop, through the water and flying over the last 3!! I couldnt believe it we were clear!! :D

The corner: bear took control for this fence!!

Turns out we were lying in 3rd place on our dressage score! Took forever for the final results to go up but we ended up 2nd!!! :D what a little legend!! Picked up 2.4 time faults due to his napping out the start but once we really nip that in the bud we should be flying!! :D

So very proud of him!!! Just one little blip with the napping but it was a lot less than at gt witch so next up back to keysoe for a xc lesson and then lots more xc schooling at different venues!! Quite excited about the future with him!! :D

Heres one more pic of him today enjoying his post competition day massage! Just because he's a massive cutie!!

Thanks for reading!!

Yay, well done! I occassionally event on my own when I have run out of favours to call in and it is utterly exhausting so well done for that too!

Wow, well done!
For setting off on your own, doing so well (both of you, suppose you weren't entirely on your own with a four-legged partner in crime there) and for posting a great report, with lots of photos :) Look forward to hearing about the next trip.

Well done, great report and I agree, Bear is a massive cutie :) what a lovely careful jump he's got on him too. Good work on dealing with the napping, I would find it very disconcerting, especially so early on in the course, so total respect for really riding him and then flying round to a double clear.

Thanks! I know he's just being naughty with the napping and once we hit our rhythm we are usually fine so its just a case of push him through it really!

Thanks! I actually didnt mind it on my own although the conversation was a little one sided at times!!!

Well done. Lovely pics!
Thank you! He is extremly photogenic!!

Fantastic, really well done, he is gorgeous :)
I'm glad you agree :D i'm biased and thinks he's the best thing since sliced bread! but he does get alot of comments when we are out and about so it must be true!!! (we just dont tell him all of it, he has a big enough ego as it is!!!)
