So sorry to hear of your loss Auslander, I loved seeing his photos and hearing about his kind soul.
It's so hard losing their companionship but we are lucky to have the special ones in our lives whilst they are here.
Take care X

I'm usually quite accepting of animals passing, so it's been a real shock how badly I've taken this. He was such a velcro dog (couldn't even go to the loo without him waiting patiently outside the door for me!), so everything I do, and everywhere I go feels all wrong without him at my heel.
He was an absolute charmer too-I always joked that a day wasn't worth living for him if he didn't make at least one new human friend. His Mr Congeniality persona has meant that I'm constantly being asked where he is, which is really really hard. My liveries have been brilliant at spotting members of his fan club and staging interventions, while I disappear into the nearest field!

My previous horse was a sulker, I was asked at a yard I kept her at if I would school on a youngster for a fellow livery as they wanted a bit more work done than had been done when she was sent away for breaking. I had a bit of spare time so agreed and said that as the stable opposite mine was empty could we pop her in their to save me time of going all the way across to the other barn. My horse was clearly not happy seeing me with another and any time I went into her stable after riding or grooming polly she would turn around, put her head in the corner and refuse to look at me, her guilt trips worked and we moved polly back to the other barn and Gee went back to winnying at me when she saw me lol
Mine once told me off in no uncertain terms when I was putting another horse, who'd got out of the next field, back in his field. I'd turned her out and she'd gone off completely ignoring me (after she'd finished her carrot) until she saw me with another horse!

Sadly, my beautiful boy has borne his last grudge. He was Pts this morning, after his wobbly back end deteriorated badly overnight, and he was struggling to get up this morning.
He was 16, and has been my constant companion for many years. I'm just heartbroken.
