Hence why I haven't been back since going there 10 or so years ago.
Saw a Shetland being hit round the head with it's leadrope because it wouldn't walk on. The fact it was obviously scared out of it's wits didn't seem to bother the person with it.
I almost got involved but would have said far too much so went & got one of the people in charge instead.
Last time I went to a horse fair, brought a miniature shetland home that was being loaded back up with horses at the end of the day. He was six months old, scared and tired. He now plays nanny to my youngsters.

LOL totally know where you are coming from with that one, I don't risk going to sales these last few years either. I will head to auction when i can afford to run a second horse as my mare was from auction and she has been an absolute treasure
We went to Holmfirth last Saturday. There were approximately 20 horses for sale. 5 were actually sold in the ring, they just were not making the prices so most dealers took them back home again. The silly thing is that many of the mares were in foal, so of course that'll be another one that they can't sell........Good job though or we might well have brought at least one mare home but we haven't got the facilities for foaling.
