Well, glorious morning to start...turned into blizzard on the last drive  Everybody wrapped up this morning, then unwrapped for the second drive as the sun was strong and we were all hot and then we got bloomin snowed on! I have just got in after a rather trecherous journey home!
I forgot batteries for the camera :D :p  So had to take some on the phone after all, they arent the best I apologise! :o
Pleased with Flora again, some of you will really appreciate how proud some of these pics make me of my dog aggressive girly! She was a little more excitable today which I kind of expected for the second time out, still worked well, put up some cracking birds others had missed and as I say so so proud of her with the other dogs. On the second drive we split up and 4 of us with about 6 dogs went off in a seperate vehicle from the beating truck, it was just a fellow beaters truck so she had to go in the back with a pack of spangles, not a grumble from her  :D Anyway, another great day. :)

Look at her, being all well behaved! I will show these pics to Henry, I haven't a prayer of getting that kind of behaviour from him, probably ever:p

Great pics Vizslak :D Well done Flora :D

I wasn't out today but I was told that they had to forgo the last drive and everyone had to have their cars pushed out of the farm carpark and some people were still stuck there at 6 this evening

We are meant to be going tomorrow but if it freezes tonight it will be lethal and I am not sure if I will get out of the lane!

It was awful here, by the time we had dinner it was ridiculous, we should have cleared off sooner really I was lucky to get back to a main road in one piece!
MM she flirted with everyone today! Was lovely to see tbh, those ones of her socialising were taken at lunch...she has fallen in love with those 2 flatcoats and their mummy! I dont know tbh regarding the gamekeepers classes...presumably I suppose?!
Spud..of course Henry will one day be well behaved! Have faith, you are probably being very mean and the dog is already much better than Flora! ;) :D

Tehe - one day you will meet him, and when you have wrested your lunch back from his ravening jaws and removed him from the odd nudist picnic, then you will know the awful truth:D

It's great to see her with the other dogs, she looks really chilled and happy:)

Just looked at the schedule which handily arrived yesterday, yes she could do a gamekeepers class, I just need my gamekeeper to sign a declaration.

Bless her little cotton sock in that last one! It's freeeeeeezing, wear's my rug Mum!?

I reckon beating is the best socialising you can give a dog - out with other dogs all day, on neutral ground, working as much like a 'pack' as any dogs do and with enough to distract them away each other. Otto has become much better with other dogs since going out beating, for a start he doesn't pick fights over birds when he's out and that was probably my biggest fear about letting him off the lead!
He works next to my Dad's dog and has been out dogging in with him, and now he gives him a welcome rather than ignoring or attacking him! :D

Flora welcomed the cocker she worked with 2 weeks ago straight into the boot of 'her' car this morning when we picked them up on the way...2 weeks ago poor little Mars would have got eaten! It definately is good for them, and its a fab environment because most are of the mentality of let them get on with it, if she snapped at most of the dogs she encounters in a week (show dogs) I would get a rollicking, she would get ostricised, she would then get a rollicking from me blah blah, As soon as she realised half way through the last day that actually no one gives a stuff, and I'm not helping her if she wants to take on the whole pack of 20+ dogs and get herself mullered she can leave me out of it, she soon changed her point of view! :p :D She literally only grumbled once all day and that was on the way home in beaters waggon which was really over crowded today and another dog leant on her when she was half asleep sat up with her head on someones knee, it was just a grumble and shes always like that when tired  My lot are giving her a wide berth tonight because they know she will growl at them if they disturb her, shes the same when knackered from showing bless her. It was lush to see her trying to start play with the others at lunch...she is already the clown of the shoot, everyone thinks she is pure comedy! Good job she does actually work in between or they may not find her waggon and lunchtime antics so amusing!

YAY!! Pics :) lovely, lovely pics too! She looks fab :D:D and no grumbly snaps ... clever girl :D

I want to come to your shoot!!!!!! :p:D

We have been asked out with 2 other shoots, will be out again next week, twice...should be interesting! More pics to follow...I may give you a run for your money this season on the pics :p :D
Come on then, get up here!

She's such a clever girly! :D She's obviously got good taste, and just needed to meet lots of working Spaniels to cure her snappiness :D
Otto loves the Beater's Wagon, we have a big deep pile of straw and he makes a little nest to sleep in inbetween drives! He didn't even lose the plot of Wednesday when two terriers kicked off at each other on my knee, before he would have got mucked in quicker than you could blink!

Flora digs her own out of the bales! She lets Mars share once its done (which is normally by the time we are getting back out the other end :p :D) This is another source of amusement to our fellow beaters! The person sat on the bale she is digging the side out of always looks a tad worried though! :o

I have been ordered to look at these pics :D I do love Flora, she is soooo gorgeous, and another example of a proper dog doing proper dog work :D

The pics arent naf at all Vizslak, Flora looks fab :):)
