Hi,
Does anyone have knowledge of this horses past? A friend is buying it for her daughter and I am not sure about it. A dealer called Claire Davies sold it to another dealer who has marked it up by at least £2k. I have seen some forums on Claire Davies which are not at all good. My friend has had two years of bad luck with her daughter's pony and she desperately wants her to be able to get out & compete & have the fun she's missed out on for the last two years. I will be furious if it turns out this horse has hidden problems. Any help very gratefully received. Thank you :(

I would be wary and definitly get 5stage vetting. I know a few people who have had dealing with original dealer and all those I know have had some kind of issue at a point within few months of sale. I would also be put off due to a dealer to dealer sale/transfer why couldn't the original dealer sell first- i wouldn't be surprised if it was returned to first dealer from a private sale hence why shipped on.

Um, you're obviously new on here??

Just a word of (friendly) advice: you don't need to post on every single noticeboard on here!!

Gets confusing, as a lot of different threads then develop, and you won't know where you are...........

Hope you don't mind my pointing out :)

Hope you find the info you're looking for.

Have you tried Facebook?

Thanks. She is getting a 5stage vetting & the current dealer has promised a guarantee if anything goes wrong. Guess there's not a lot else she can do. Really hope this one works out for them

Sorry - was just so desperate to get any info for them, thought more threads might mean more people saw it as wan't sure how this all worked. Will know for next time!

I have two ponies on my yard, one definitely came from Claire Davies via another dealer. This one was sold to a naïve 1st time owner. It is a 14.3 thug with no manners. The dealer she bought it off won't give her money back (she says she has spent it) and has suggested she sends it back to Claire at a loss of £1500. The other pony came from the un-named dealer, was tried thoroughly before purchase with a very experienced friend, they got it home and two days later it was dangerous. They immediately, on the advice of a barrister friend, rang to say they wished to return it, and were told that "she had spent the money". It is now a field ornament. How do these people stay in business?
