Well I took her back to the vet on Friday and the urine sample results were worrying. She has a protein score of 22 from the sample and the norm is 0.5.

We were away at the weekend so took her with us (Jess and Skye stayed with a friend). Beau was the centre of attention in the Hotel bless her.

Anyway, the vet put her on antibiotics for the weekend and as we were going away he gave us a print out of her history to take with us in case we neede to consult a vet while we were away. He is a lovely vet.

She has seemed to perk up a little since Friday. Yesterday she even did a poo which had some form to it and not just liquid! (hoping I am not being too optimistic!) and has to go back to vet this afternoon.
Fingers crossed.

Hopefully it's just an aggressive infection, as I said before B got a good blast with anti-biotics (for almost a month, bless him!) and he cleared up well.
Glad you guys had a good weekend :)

Well she has lost more weight sadly. Another .65 kg gone. I'm beginning to really worry now. She is eating but looks like a hat rack.
More antibiotics and she has to have 2 desert spoonfuls of cottage cheese in her food twice a day.
Never heard of this but will try anything. Back to vet on Thursday.

Poor Beau!:( I hope the antibiotics do the trick :)- never heard of cottage cheese but would have thought live yoghurt would be needed (think Yakult actually) as the antibiotics will kill off all the bacteria good and bad which live in the gut which is why it is common to get diahorrea with antibiotics. The good bacterial load in Yakult/live yoghurt help replace the good bacteria and try and maintain some gut stability.

Thank you all.
Beau was not impressed with the cottage cheese on her dinner last night, but was a bit better at breakfast with it. I'll keep on with it as per vet's instructions until I see him again on Thursday
