I love my boy to pieces and although he doesnt show it, I think he has a bit of a soft spot for me :D

He's a right grumpy bum some days and during the week (due to lack of light) he gets the same quick routine. I pull up, give him a pat (he walks off) I get his halter, catch him, check him over and pick his feet, give him a fuss (which he hates) then go and get his hay and feed. He's a greedy pig so is always VERY keen for his tea so is mega grumpy and wanting me to crack on with my checks.

Anyway, tonight he was his usual grumpy self, fidgety while I was picking his feet and pulling his normal mardy faces. I ran my hands down his neck as normal and gave his withers a really hard, pintchy scratch. He turned his head towards me and started very lightly grooming me back :) Then I carried on my checks, bent down to run my hands under his tummy and he turned his head to me again, put his head against my face and started gently blowing on my face, so I blew back at him. This lasted about 30 seconds and was so beautiful! He then turned away in disgust once he realised what he was doing and looked at me with his grumpy face as if to say, COME ON HUMAN, WHERE IS MY TEA!

Here is his grumpy face for you all to enjoy :D

Sorry for the pointless post :p

He's very handsome, lovely and fluffy in his winter woolies.
Mine is like yours, occasionally forgets himself and becomes quite affectionate, unfortunately it doesn't last long lol!:D

Glad he's not the only one!

Hes never nasty, doesnt bite or kick or anything, just pulls faces!

Here is his happy face :)

Love your boy's happy face, mine does that if he smells treats!
He's easily fooled though, I buy a big sack of Lucie Nuts and use them, much better for his waistline.;)

I love it when ponies suddenly decide to remind us why we love them.

I had a moment with one of the ones I ride last night. Life's been interesting for the last couple of weeks (for reasons the internet doesn't need to know). And i went into her stable for a proper cry. She was wonderful. Left a fresh haynet hanging there to stand as close to me as she could get. Kept turning round to nuzzle at me. One ear fixed on me, one ear making sure the wolves didn't get me while i wasn't paying attention. No questions, no judgement, no misguided advice, no changing the subject until i wanted to.

Feeling so much better today.

Wow he looks like a completely different horse in the last photo! No joke, but I had to look twice. I must admit, I love him fluffy with his winter coat :)

This is his summer look. Excuse the weight and bad feet, this is when he first came to me. He is almost 80kg lighter now!

Thats lovely. I was upset last weekend as out lizard had died. I told him all about it while I was poo picking. I got a bit upset and went to give him a hug and he gave me a funny look and walked off! Made me laugh so stopped the tears! xx

Haha, your boy sounds so like my mare! She is a grumpy sod to say the least. She hates any kind of fuss and will pull the most extraordinary faces. I sometimes call her croccy as she will poke her nose right out, ears flat back and will clash her teeth together like a crocodile :D

I used to think she had a soft spot for me, but it is just a facade. Food is FAR more important! :p

I've renamed him grumpston! Ha ha, had about 3 moments like tonight in the 6 months i've owned him.

He's much more loving after he's been worked and is exhausted! Just started bringing him back now so lets see if he cheers up :D xx

My pony is also a grump especially where food is concerned. I've had him for just over a year and today he really made me smile - I went into his field, called him and he came trotting down to me, stopped a yard away and let me scratch his ears - first time ever :-D

HR - your boy is gorgeous :-D
