Because I was getting altogether too terrier-y and not greyhound-y enough....

Who do you think George was in his previous life? This is definitely not his first time around :)

Willow, Button and myself met a fabulous Bedlington yesterday evening and he was amazing. Since losing Rufus, I know Button won't be too far behind him and Willow would be a nightmare as an only dog so I'm kind of looking again but not with any great enthusiasm yet. What I really want is a Bedlington / Whippet but have you seen the price of those!!! That ain't happening.

I love my spaniels but I'm getting too old to be dragged about now :)

Looking forward to Caspers arrival and following the packs progress.,hope he gels as he’s too lovely to languish in rescue kennels.

You can never be too terrorist:)..I’m always looking at terriers and more likely schnauzers ( medium or another mini) as my future..mostly from the grooming point of view as we live in the country and wool coat is v demanding.
..but Lev has ten years on me,so at this point her choice palette is an open book..maybe the one after this will be a terrier ,when it’s time.;)

I do want to ask if greyhounds are generally sex tolerant..ie you can add either gender without worrying about any clashes..?
Plus..how will the terriers react a male rather than a female addition to the pack..prior to this Colin was a pup with no voting rights, but he’s growing up,so will he be your main concern for a clash, do you think?
( I’m guessing Millie may prefer a male,so this is the basis of your choice).

I ask as I like the girls, but my little schnauzer is so anti female that I do wonder if she will force my choice for the next addition when it’s time.

Ha ha I adore Bedlington x whippets too but likewise there is absolutely no way I would pay the silly money that people want for them! Although having had whippets and greyhounds, I would always go for a greyhound now - they are far more relaxed and easy going than whippets in my experience, whippets tend to be a lot sharper, more demanding and needy

I actually think George was an eminent politician in a previous life - he has all the poise, the pompous self importance and the gravitas ? Or maybe even Napoleon??!!!

No greyhounds aren’t sex tolerant unfortunately - it’s a guessing game as to whether you will find that they are compatible or not!

It ‘helps’ that Marty is very submissive and wouldn’t really argue - he is frightened of Millie - so he would tend to submit to another dog. He and Ace had one fight and Marty learned his place!

Millie is a total witch and I don’t think would tolerate another bitch in the house, she bullies the boys enough

The terriers are the least of my worries really, I find the size difference is enough to make sure that they don’t argue with the greyhounds! Colin has already snapped at Millie once over food (bad choice there Colin!) so I think he is finding his paws a little now that he is 6 months.... so he will be having a trip straight to the vets if that behaviour continues ???
