thought id bring back up the subject about Working Hunters.

(im not trying to start world war 3 here

) however, i do think that the new 'modern' judges like to see a bit more weight on the show hunt horses. which in my opinion, wrong. i know it has been a raised concern which is being looked in to at the moment, however in the good old days, 'old fashioned' judges liked to see muscle. what happened to that? surely you would want a developed fit horse to take hunting with a good muscle line, other then a slightly overweight horse?

im not calling your horses fat, don't take it so personally. im calling in general that the weight in hunters has increased for showing which isn't healthy for the horse.

its not just hunters but lots of other showing classes too. being overweight is just as bad as underweight and its a shame to see the judges encourage weight gain.

now, have a nice rant about this

and PLEASE don't shout at me haha!!

Have to say, I agree. Surely horses in a hunter class should actually be able to go hunting without having a coronary. A lot of the working hunters I see puffing their way around a class wouldn't last 3 lines on a real hunt.

i have noticed this
also so many heavyweight hunters arent the refined big horses they are meant to be they are just fat i know it doesnt apply to them all but it is quite alot of them
