How is she? Hope that the next door stable repairs go OK and she's not too upset by having to stay out for the day ... especially in this FOUL weather. Beth ("I'm even fatter than Hannah and I've got 8 weeks to go") sends her love!

This stuff is addictive! I have a million things to do and have spent all morning on this forum! Come on Becki!

Must go and meet the hubby for lunch, will sign in as soon as I get back (wonder if I can get help for this?)

Hello hello...

No foalie yet, but the bags are definitely permanent fixtures under my eyes at the moment which is a really good luck.

I checked Hannah every hour last night and she seemed quite peaceful so I now know what is normal behaviour for her at those times (I even wrote down what she was doing... I really am a norman).

Got up this morning, went to see her and she had sticky udders...

Thanks... I wouldn't say she has waxed up as no dripping wax etc etc, but her udders were sticky when I went in (less so after she had been out) very very swollen in front which is a first and hot. There also looked to be pours opening on the udder???

Oh forgot to say, spoke to YO and asked her to put the work off til next week. She kindly agreed so I am a very happy person now and not a stressed out maniac that keeps crying like I was yesterday.

Just off to update my blog too...

Glad im not the only one coming on here every morning to check!!
Glad YO has put it off - load off your mind

I know its hard to do - but once you know shes started to have it - take a deep breath & watch & enjoy - she'll know what to do & it will be over so quick that you'll wonder why you panicked!!!

Fingers crossed for you from myself & Jazz

Thanks Jazz1... I am hoping to leave her to it as she has done it all before so will hopefully know what she should be doing

I will watch on the CCTV camera until her waters break and then quietly nip round to the stable to video the whole thing!

When Asti was born, Tini really waxed up - like stalactites on both sides and we knew it would be that night.

Byter wasn't as obvious. My sister stayed up 2 nights with her (slept in the car) when we thought she was close - dock muscles went etc... but both nights I looked at her and said - nope. Not tonight - and went off to my bed. On the Sunday I decided to hang around. Sister was alseep and I whispered I was off to check her about midnight - she was digging up her bedding pawing so I tidied her bed, went back to car and said "give it an hour" - amazing how quick she woke up then!

We went back to the stable just as her waters broke, Gail was getting a bit worried by this point but just stayed with her head - mare seemed happier having her with her there. I was ready for midwife duties. There was a worrying moment when there was only 1 foot but the other popped out shortly after.

I'd said to her as long as we have progress within 20 mins we were fine, but if it got to long we'd ring the vet, but she delivered within 15 mins and I helped guide the spawn of satan into the world while Gail filmed it.

Hindsight I'd have pushed the b*gger back!!!!

Its pretty amazing though. Have delivered 2 now, not quite in SN's league though!

Oooh so exciting! This foal is going to be so FAMOUS when it eventually decides to emerge. (And Hannah's mum will be on her knees with exhaustion!)

Becki, what bedding are you using for Hannah to foal down on?
So pleased that YO has delayed repairs - did seem a bit bonkers of her!
