One of my mares is REALLY dirty!!!

At the moment they are both on shavings on top of rubber matting, but I am using quite a lot and it takes me a good 30 mins to muck out each one. However, I need enough bedding for it to soak up all the wet and like my beds to be clean all of the time (I have OCD).

Does anyone have any suggestions as to other bedding options?

I have just switched to Aubiose and it is SO much more economical - both in time and cost. I am gutted that I didn't try this sooner after winter of shavings, bad back from mucking out and no spare cash!! I also only put a small area down for my boy to 'go' onto. It is possible to toilet train horses and they will end up just going on the bedding patch. Good luck!!

I can't cope with deep litter... OCD on beds doesn't work well with a deep litter

We use Woodypet - it's really good. It's like pellets when you open the bag, liquid expands it and it then goes like a cross between shavings and peat, the wet stays in one clump which is easy to pick up, poos sit on top.
