Bedding options for a cosy bed?

I am thinking of using wood pellets as a base with shavings on top. Have one who has breathing issues so had stopped using wood pellets but hope if properly damped down and have shavings on top it will be ok. They only come in in worst of weather/mud so I am hoping this will work .

I do a base of aubiose only touch that weekly for wet and have hunters on top , it’s very comfy ! I use 1 aubiose a week and 1 hunters every 2/3 weeks.

A bag or two of straw pellets where they wee topped with Burlybed light is what I now use. Stables have full rubber mats.
Shavings and wood pellets don't break down quickly enough for me as at home so muck heap emptying is a cost factor too. Used Concorde only for a few years but prefer current set up.

Chopped wheat straw (fluffier and softer than rape) with wood pellets underneath as a base.

I use Bedmax as the main bed, with strawmax underneath. I take the wet patches out every few days and top up the base. I was using too many bedmax a week with my messy one but itself, but have reduced the amount whilst still having a large bed /banks.
