Apologies in advance for the long boring post
well done if you get to the end!! :P

Before i got my mare she had lived out but really does not do well in the winter ( She's a TB)
I tried to winter her out last year but didn't suit her, she isn't botherd but i found it soooo hard to keep weight on.
I started bringing her and she is okay, dosent like being left in for ages but thats okay as she comes in relativley late and out early morning definatly before 7.30-8.
Problem is i have no idea what she does over night but all her bed is always pushed to the sides.

Were not aloud to rubber mat the whole stable :| so i cant do that, i have tried shaving and straw but neither make a difference.

Her rug is never slipped and shes never hot/swetty so i don't think she panics

Any ideas what to do?

We've got one who does that, we just leave him to it - he clearly likes his bed like that, and is never stressed, so we just let him get on with making his bed how he likes it!

Have you tried wood pellet bedding? I have found because it is more dense than straw or shavings it stays in place far better - doesn't easily get kicked or dragged around. I recommended it to a friend whose horse pushed his bed right up to the doorway every night, and wood pellet bedding has cured that. Now he no longer has scrapes on his hocks which he was getting from not having any bedding under him when he got up in the morning.
