Nedz is coated in "something" to make it bitter tasting (according to the website, no personal experience!) so that they wont eat it.

When I first laid my bed Chip did nibble at it but spat it out again and because of who he is repeated that process another few times ??. The TB didn't bother his shirt about it.
Spoil sport, can't believe you won't test it personally ;)
She is a cob who would like the world to believe she is starved but is usually fairly sensible about what she eats.
However I will definitley watch out for it as I could do without any more vet visits (for her sake and that of my wallet)

This might be a stupid question, I've never ordered from e feeds before, do they have equipment to help unload if you order large quantities of bedding?

When you order you select the size of lorry that can get to the delivery address.

There is a comment box for any additional information. I said that there wouldnt be a forklift available to unload the delivery.

The truck that came had a tail lift and pallet truck then we just handballed the bedding and feed into the shed ourselves.

I can't believe people pay £9 or £10 for a bale of shavings still.

Maybe i am just lucky or because I invested time shopping around but I have always paid less than £7.50 for a 22kg bale of quality dust extracted shavings.

I can’t say mine has ever eaten his chopped rape straw bed ??‍♀️ And he’s a greedy boy, if it was palatable and edible I’d just find mats come morning (I joke he does get enough hay so maybe that’s why) but still, it must also be coated like Nedz maybe?

Personally I don't like wood pellets or straw (for the smell only!) so I use a mix of nordic sawdust and shavings for mine. The sawdust makes a nice base and the shavings make it a bit fluffier, which I can't imagine he cares about, but makes me feel it's nicer. Despite his size he is really tidy and not very wet either, unless he's feeling stressed. I have found since mixing the two that I use less bedding - usually 3 bags every 2 weeks in winter and one bag every 2 weeks now he's out at night. It takes me 15-20 mins to do a full muck out in winter, and in the awful rain the bedding helped a lot to dry out his feet and feathers without staining them orange like the wood pellets seem to.

Interesting video I had thought about straw pellets and that's the first time I've seen them being used, not sure I could cope with waiting for them to break down!

On the vague chance anyone is interested!
Went with nedz bedz pro, as it was easier to get hold of.
Put a full bed down on Sunday last week.
My stable is 10x15, and I used 6 bags to put a 10x10 bed down which is 7 or so inches deep.
Bit dusty to put down to start but not any worse than any other bedding. Bit dusty again turning the bed around today and putting a new bag in but nothing awful and day to day to skip out its not at all dusty.
She came in, tried to eat 2 mouthfuls, didn't look too disgusted but didn't eat anymore and I've not seen her nibbling it since (thankfully)
A joy to skip out during the week.
Decided to take the wet out today (after 5 nights in for about 12 hours a time) as wasn't sure how well it was doing.
I took 1 barrow out today, it didn't smell and although I've put another bale in tonight I'm not sure it really needed it tbh.
I can't do spirit level beds with it, that's the only thing I'm finding but it's very easy to use and minimal waste so I'm a fan :)

You can see here how wet she is

How little waste I took out

And all put back down
