I won’t name anyone but thought I would make people aware that there is a woman posting in numerous Facebook groups selling a large amount of bedmax shavings at £4 a bale.
I’ve reported the post several times but she keeps popping up again. The comments are generally turned off on these posts.

Several people have been convinced to pay over the phone and have had money stolen.

If the deal looks to good to be true, that’s because it is too good to be true.

I think these people get hacked? I've seen it loads of times from different people with genuine accounts, it's very bizarre 😔

I’ve only seen the one woman posting. Quick search of her name brings up lots of angry screenshots and a picture of notice on a property they are using as a registered address that isn’t theirs.

Just highlighting this scam going around again on Facebook.
The original post was by a Gemma Drayton.
The new post is by a Kelly Thorne but the background picture on her facebook is the same as Gemma Drayton.
I know OP didn’t want to name names but hopefully this might stop someone getting scammed.

I got scammed by this back in April. In my defence I'd been quite seriously ill as I'm usually pretty switched on and this is so obvious.

The whole scam is run by a man. He set up the fake accounts for Louise and Kelly. If you search their names on fb you'll see he's also scammed people over Peleton bikes.

In my delirious state I say the advert so PM kelly to ask for details. She gave me a mobile number to call her OH because he owns a haulage company.

I called and he told me a story about having horses with Pippa Funnell and a show jumper who's name escapes me. He said his partner had 6 at home and one was being vetted in Belgium. Basically thir riders had been sponsored by Bedmax but were now changing to another brand (a genuine brand buy I can't remember the name. Something down maybe?). So to keep sponsors happy they had to get rid of all the free bedding they had in storage. He has his own haulage company so charged £4 per bale so that the pallet price covered transport.

I blindly went alone with this and handed over credit card details. I gave him mums number and he did call her to arrange the delivery to her address.

He was very charming and clearly has the routine down.

when I gave him my card details he went through a spiel about having just changed from Sage pay to Apple (or vice versa) and thr system was playing up. He said I'd get an authorisation number to my phone and to call him back with it. Like an eejit I did exactly that.

After he spoke to mum I called him back to buy another pallet 🤦🏼‍♀️ in my defence it was a great price 😜

I used a different credit card and it kept getting declined which I thought was strange. He said just to call him back thr next day once I'd checked with my bank.

A little itch in my brain got my thinking that I'd never noticed pippa affiliated with bedmax. So I googled pippa, the SJer, bedmax and the other brand. None of them mentioned the other

I checked my initial credit card to see the company name but no money had been taken. I put a freeze on my card and called the fraud line. I then called the fraud department for the rejected card and Lloyds had noticed what they thought was fraud so had frozen my card automatically

During the night I kept getting notifications from B&Q for declined transactions around £100. What he does is take card details and then, with the authorisation code sent to the phone, adds the cards to his apple wallet and uses them for payment.

I was very lucky and didn't lose any money.

After I froze the cards I fell down a fb rabbit hole of all his scams.

He has a fake company and others shared invoices and receipts he'd manufactured. He also offers collection but turns out it's a fake address. When you get there the owners have a note on the door saying that Mark (I think thats the fake name he uses) doesn't live there and there is no haulage yard, please stop knocking the door.

I know certain people will slaughter me for being this stupid, delirious on pain meds or not, but I'm happy to share if it stops anyone else falling for it.

My original cards were cancelled and new ones issued to be safe.

@TPO they are very convincing but all over equestrian scammers FB page as scammers so I try to highlight them every time I see them being scumbags. I’m glad even in your delirious state you didn’t lose money but so many have and they need locking up so if anyone else sees them advertising please report them to the fraud hotline or the police.

I'm not on any scammer pages and hadn't seen the adverts before. He was clearly expanding his territory!

I do report the posts and contact page admins but 9/10 times nothing is done

Great post, TPO.
(There's no 'great' button.)

(By the way, if the fat controller is around, I think we need a light bulb button as many a time I need to click on it.)
