Does anyone use these?

I have just put a bale down in Grace's stable and quite like them but was wondering what other people's opinions are on them...

Is that the big flake shavings?
If so, really hated them, found they didn't go far and bed looked more dirty than normal after a while

I love them but put down 2 bales each weekend - 1 bedmax and one small chip. Only problem with my horse is that he moves his bed all night and if it is only bedmax it is a pile in the corner. But with the mix it works well. The girl in the stable next door does the same but uses auboise instead of small flake to make bed more absorbant - the big flakes dont compact and absorb too well. But the Bedmax does make the bed look nice and fluffy.

My other pony is very neat and has bedmax onto his rubber matting and is fine. Occasionaly you will find a big piece of wood in the bale but its never dusty. I tried to contact them to buy direct - but you cant so I pay £6.50 per bale but with the mix its worth it.

Didn't really get on with it - also found it broke down to powdery stuff quite quickly. Didn't seem to go very far and compressed down quickly making too flat a bed for my liking.

Love it - have 2 on full beds of it - one clean, one very messy.

Personally have never found it breaks down quickly, use 1 bale every 10 days on clean horse, 1 a week on dirty and both beds 6" or so deep.

Have tried numerous other beddings (inc mats) and always gone back to bedmax. It is our local suppliers best seller

Oh and we get it for £5.05 a bale

I also found it broke down too quickly. I switched to Mendip large flake shavings which I buy from Scats, I much prefer those. I can't get on with small flake shavings...

I use it for my lad and really like it! I barely use a bale a week and find it easier to keep clean than normal small shavings!

Don't like the stuff broke down to quickly and always looked messy I use Megazorb or normal shavings, the megazorb is fantastic very absorbent and easy to muck out.

One of the horses I do has just gone on it, have had it one week so far so good, quite easy to muck out and she is dirty, she did 5 bales to start and has put 1 in, bed looks as new

My boy I deep litter on it and his bed is lovely. He isnt the tidiest of horses, but it is quick to make it look like new again! It goes dark quite quickly, but I really rate it and will stick with it for the time being. I get it for £5.50 a bale aswell so cheaper than shavings.

I use it for my lot. They have full beds which are fully mucked out daily. They have 1 - 2 bales top up per week. I have found the beds to be cleaner than when I used small shavings and they don't seperate as much so horses don't scrape through to the floor when they get up after a lie down.
