… that can resist her attempts to make it look like Christmas came early ideally!

Lucy has an annoying habit of leaving her bed alone for a while then out of the blue pulling it apart. We’ve tried quilts, those only last a few days …

She’s about one more bed away from sleeping on the floor so this one needs to last ?

Any recommendations appreciated

There are quite a few brands of elevated dog beds, coupled with some vetbed they can be a practical solution. Greyhounds hate sleeping at floor level as it is the coldest place in the room. I am afraid our three lurchers have a sofa each! Sophie chewed the occasional hole in her blankets for the first couple of years we had her but has not done it since. I think it is a stress relieving activity and probably a relic of past stress, not a reflection of her current situation and should fade in time.

I was going to enthusiastically suggest Ivy's lovely Earthbound bed but then I saw the bit about destruction!

How about a plastic bed lined with some vet bed and a couple of cosy blankets?

I have used the Vetbed solution, coupled with a hard plastic bed as either component still works if chewed. One Vetbed sheet was more hole than bed but it still was good to lie on!

However, we had a breakthrough with the cheap and flimsy fluffy doughnut beds. I thought it would last less than a night before being dismembered, but it was for a special occasion, maybe firework night or something, so I treated him as it was cheap. He loved it. Snuggled in it. Never chewed it. The flimsy bed has outlasted every other bed we have ever bought!

I still can hardly believe it.

They now have matching ones in their crate and, even when locked away unattended, the beds are safe.

Wouldn’t mind, but it was said Pipsqueak that we discovered is actually the bed destroying culprit so Lucys name is cleared ?
