Going to try to not make this a novel or cry all the way thro typing it.
I have been diagnosed with quite a serious illness. It looks like I am not going to be able to keep my lovely mare. I want to put her on a long term loan but panicking quite a lot after reading the various threads on loaning. i will want her near me so that i can go and visit on a regular basis. i can't possibly not ever see her again. She is an ex racer and i have had her for 5 years. she came with lots of issues but we have worked thro them and she is a lovely horse to ride and very respectful on the ground. She is very sensitive and needs light hands. she is ridden in a myler or french link. goes from canter to trot with just your voice, perfect brakes, never bucked or reared even at her worst.
She will need someone who will assure her routine and respect her need for rugs, suncream in the summer, mudblock in the winter. She is a lovely jumper and never fizzes up. bomb proof in traffic although there may be a scary misshapen leaf that may just threaten to jump up and eat her!
so where do i advertise her. we are in central scotland. she could stay at present yard in west lothian. any tips to make this as painless as possible, for both of us.
i also have a sec a that i will try to hang on to at the mo as he is low maintenance or try and get someone to loan him and keep him at yard as he is getting on a bit and had cancer last year. he is fine now tho and a lovely wee lad for a nice kind kiddy.
I am totally heartbroken but i have to do what is best for them. i just don't know how long i will be able to keep up with the work. i am coping at the moment tho'.
so if anyone has any ideas, i would appreciate it.
I thought of ILPH or WHW as they are now but they don't let you keep in touch with them and they just cannot be pushed from pillar to post.
cookies if you got this far, so much for no novel or tears.
