(apologies for the size of the photos!)

been trying to keep it a secret but i was only able to for 3 days! lol

Ria has been given the all clear!! well.. sort of! vets words were "shes heading very much in the right direction, 98% sound. you are free to do what you want with her!" woopwoop!!!!

(for those that didnt know.. i was told by the same vet to retire her when she had just turned 5 years old (shes nearly 6 now) due to a fractured pastern joint. each time he came out to see her he couldnt believe the improvements she was making so we never stopped fighting and held onto the hope that maybe one day she could be ridden again... now look at her!)

so today i jumped her for the first time in about a year and she LOVED it. she was so excited she kept leaping the jumps. this horse has so much power behind (as you can see from me getting catapulted!) and is so scopey! im so happy for her to be back doing what she loved the most. after our little jumping session she was just so cheery and bright, so amazing to see her like that i was in tears! :)

thankyou to all those that believed in us and gave me the strength to carry on and not give up hoping.

That's great news! I remember your introductory post about Ria (she's an ex-racer isn't she?). Was so sad to hear of her diagnosis, and so delighted to hear this now! Here's to a great year with her! :D

what a brilliant start to the year. just goes to show that sometimes we do just need faith and that vets can get it wrong on occassion.

hope you have a fantastic year x

Great!! I have AN ID WHO WAS DIAGNOSED WITH arthritis of the pastern and i was told he would not do anything than hack if that and he would deteriorate over 2 years... or he may recover if his joint fuses. I waited 9 months, then worked him in hand because he was so bored and he became sound again eventually and we haven't looked back since. We have had such fun together, it's just such a relationship maker when you've been through such highs and lows together and worth it! Hope you go into the highs now!

Awwww, that is absolutely brilliant new. Really chuffed for you. So nice to hear something good. Well done for sticking with her and not loosing faith.

Awww well done on getting her right!! She looks like my ex racer (except that yours likes to jump! :P) Whats her breeding?xxx

so happy for you two, if there's anyone who deserves some happiness it's you and Ria!

you've done so well with her - long may her good health continue!!

thanks madz :D hope you and angel are doing well too!!

Ria is full thoroughbred ex flat racer (only raced twice) she is out of bertolini(where she gets her massive neck and backside from!), and brief truce is her dams sire, riverman, northern dancer etc :)
