Big Rant I apologise Now
Phoned up the florist to order some flowers for my nans funeral on Friday, only to be told that my card had been refused. WTF just got paid Friday, well rang bank and was told it was all those 'lastminute.com purchases you've made over the last week have empted your account!! "WHAT", politely tell banker that i have not made any purchases for holidays/plane tickets in the last 10 years. (poor sole me never had a holiday). so bank have to contact fraud dept and police and follow it up. Rang lastminute.com after several hours of waiting/putting on hold/not right dept etc eventually get through and am told, yes many purchases have been made with your card, but not in your name or via your email address. "so who was it then" i asked, "oh we carn't tell you that, data protection and all that b****x. "well thanks you for your help" i reply "and tell whoever has stolen my hard earned cash to have a very nice holiday".

You poor thing, that happened to me last month, checked my online banking and was £800 down! Rang B*rclays who said they couldnt tell me where it had gone because the system hadnt updated yet!

Cancelled card and had to wait.

Went in the bank every day for 2 weeks, still no answer and no system update about where it had gone!

Somehow mine came back into my account, no idea how though.

My advice would be too go on and on for them to pass it fraud, ring or go in every day to chase it up.
There is so much card cloning etc around,m its scary.

Hopefully the thieving B*stards will be caught, espec as you know what they have spent it on and where.

I had a similar experience recently were a chap was caught using a frauded cheque book and credit card with my a/c details. Seem these banks have dishonest people passing the details on to thieves.
Fortunately for me, the cheque book numbers had already been cancelled, and there were no active cards on that a/c, so the guy was nabbed !

I hope you get you stuff sorted out - it's rotten to get stolen from like that, especially when it needs a 3rd person to leak the details.

its the second time in as many months that i have been robbed, my tax disc never arrived in the post and my daughters xmas money was taken out of her card.... sigh, time for another glass of wine i think, will look on the bright side i think at least someones having a nice holiday!!!!

Who sent money in a card? I thought everyone knew there are some less than honest people working for the postal service who can spot money in a card and - hey, pay rise.

SH*T bags aren't they. Hope you get it sorted soon, wonder if the robbing b*stards planned on sending you a postcard!!
I agree have another galss of wine and chase it until you get some joy

Oh Rachel I am so sorry to hear that hunny.

Do you have a shredder? if not i would seriously get one and start using it. Equally check which cash point you are using hasnt been tampered with.

Arghhhh makes me so angry that someone else thinks its their god given right to nick someones hard earn cash.

Naww nice photos tho

The scam around here is that they pay people to collect black rubbish bags and sift through them for any discarded envelopes etc so as to determine the name and address of the person(s) concerned and even better bank/building society account details and credit card details. They then use this information to steel their identity and spend the unsuspecting persons money.

Shred everything that has your name or your address or bank account details or credit card details on.

Buy a cross shredder as otherwise they can easily stick the bits tyogether.
