i am really pleased with the progress!
for info- she had a very bad injury as a yearling chopping off most of her bulb, heel and frog.
Her feet were in pretty bad shape tbh, with very large flares, under run heels and bad cracks with no frogs and paper thin soles
last years pics when i first got her-

I am absolutely hopeless on interpreting pix but to me her feet now look a bit too upright! I thought the angle to the ground should be about 45 degrees but your girl's look closer to 65 or even 70. Maybe it's a necessary step in rectifying the original poor shape?

The angle of the hoof should be the same angle as the pastern so yours are as they should be now. Fantastic improvement. You probably will never get the damaged foot 100% but you are doing a brilliant job.

thanks.
:)
luckily she has managed to retain the vital structures so hopefully it wont put her at too much of an increased risk of premature joint damage........
looking at them actually made me feel a bit proud lol. its been a bit of a struggle and some of the cracks i used to despair of ever growing out!

my farrier is really good. he trims the horses foot to the leg its attatched to, not a pre-set diagram. he trims YOs iberians too and they have very upright feet as thats their conformation. she had terrible trouble with another farrier (very highly rated) who took the heels low and made the feet look more 'normal' and her mare went lame on all 4 legs and she developed spavins. shes now 100% sound and working at medium level!

i think she would possibly have gone lame by now kept in work if her feet werent sorted...... they are a bit special needs- i know she absoluntly cannot go longer than 5/6 weeks but a previous farrier kept trying top make appointments 8 weeks apart....or maybe he just didnt like me!lol

They look brilliant ! What are you feeding as a matter of nosiness, and any supplements ? I swear by the Feet First book, so far so good. sm x

Such a big improvement! Well done!

My boy suffers a bit with his feet - they look pretty good from the outside but suffers terribly with bruised soles, which we seem to have conquered with Ketatex hoof hardner and 'surefoot' supplement By D&H.. whats your secret?

she gets happy hoof and comp mix, with black sunflower seeds.
:)
her soles have thickened up with work on the sand surface and i also hack her out once or twice a week in walk and trot on the roads.
