Nobby helped the builders pressure wash some old bricks from our basement....

Nice clean up - breed trim could be tightened up a bit but as a terrier specialist I'm picking hairs here. He looks clean, smart and comfortable.

Crikey! Now I know how people feel when their horses/riding are criticised on here! He's not a show dog so we don't really mind about the trim to be honest. A purist would strip rather than clip, so we know he's far from perfect. I think I prefer him in the first picture anyway......! :)
 
In the first picture he looks like one of those brown curly haired teddy bears :) He looks very smart in the second picture. I know nothing about breed trims though! My OH's mother couldn't afford to take her two yorkies to the groomer and they were beginning to look like Cousin It! I chopped them with hairdressing scissors and horsey mini trimmers - they certainly looked smarter and could see and walk properly... bonus!! lol :)

I know what you mean about Nobby not being a show dog, and not having a show-perfect trim. I hand strip Bear, our Border Terrier, and I know that I do a less than perfect job. However, he is also no show dog, so I'm content that when I do get my finger and thumb out:eek:;), the end result is a dog who's comfortable, relatively tidy and distinctly less hairy. :)
 
It's a shame that you didn't also take a pic of the groomers face when she saw him at the before stage. Lol.

I know what you mean as well as my scottie does not end up with a skirt underneath her and if you notice many westie owners clip underneath as well. My dog loves to get dirty so is kept nice and clipped for her comfort. She stil has a beard and eyebrows.

I have to confess that he had a bath at home about 5 mins after I took the first photo.....he went to the poodle parlour about a week later...!
