Apart from Max, can anyone recommend a person to assist with ground training issues near Clacton?

The horse in question in an ex-racehorse and is getting a bit above himself and his new owner isn't quite sure how to correct him and bring him into line.

So looking for recommendations to assist this lady. Someone who can give assistance on a regular basis, certainly initially, will probably be most beneficial rather than a one-off session.

Many thanks.

The horse apparently won't lunge - just tears around like the wall of death and the lady can't control him.
She is just too far away from us to be able to offer practical assistance so hence my search for recommendations of someone nearer to her to assist.

Has she tried long lining him instead - and then gradually working him in to lunge? Many race horses are started this way - and the 1 lunge line approach may just not work for it.

Does she ride it? Give it loads of turn out? And not too much grub?

There is a fantastic trainer up there that broke my mums stallion in - her name is Alison Beeson - i dont have her number but i truly cant recommend her highly enough - i think she lives in point clear and has a yard at her house.

AmyMay - the lady in question has had a lot of advice (I am an RoR Consultant Trainer) but as you know, there is no substitute for practical help. So often "issues" are not really "issues" - they just boil down to incorrect communication between horse and handler.

Hence my need to find someone who can go and visit the lady is question.

In answer to your questions though, feed and turnout are addressed; no she has not dared ride the horse yet! Long reining is also a no-no! But thank you for your suggestions and observations.

Well good luck to her. Hopefully she'll track down the help she needs.

Ther is no substitute for having it on the ground with you, I agree.

Two top people-
Edie Neill - www.edieneill.com
Jason Webb - www.australianhorsetraining.co.uk

HIGHLY recommend both! Edie is Kiwi and Jason is from Oz, they both know each other and are absolute legends!

Edie is prob closer as she is based in Braintree, but Jason is just over the river in Kent.
By the way they will both be at the International Polocrosse Test Series this weekend - http://www.ashfieldspolocrosse.com/test_match/
Jason will be competing and Edie Coaching/supporting.
Best in the business!!! They have a lot of fans on the forum...
