Beijing 2008 - GBR showjumping team

This weekend I saw an interview with Peter Charles at the site of an international competition he is entering in Spain.
I was a little confused when he said that he's top horse - Rubert R - is at quarantine for the OG!!
There was some change in the british team? As I know, it was John and Michael Whitaker, Tim Stockdale, Ben Maher and Nick Skelton as reserve rider.
In fact, he enter this competition with only two other horses. I found this very strange, perhaps some of you can explain this...

Yes i'm sure that peter is the non-travelling reserve therfore still has to go into quarintine as is Tim Gredley. Rumour has it that Michael may in fact not ride as Portofino hasn't been on form, hence why they have taken a few more in quarintine.

this is the rumour I have heard as well. I would be gutted for Michael as portofino has been the most consistant horse over the last couple of years which helped get the qualification in the first place.

Not sure how I feel about Peter Charles going, he has swapped nationalities too many times for me - can he swap back to Ireland in the future if he wanted to again?

Yes, it is in Quarantine. Don't think Peter will allow his horse to travel unless it is definately going to compete.

I'm sure I read somewhere that he can't swap nationalities again - or at least he could but he couldn't compete again for a different nationality.

According to the diary of the olympic team leader (on http://www.equestrianteamgbr.com), the SJ horses are on the air today and they are the initially appointed (Corlato, Peppermill, Portofino, Rolette and Russel)
