Well little lab 17months old hasn't eaten breakfast when first put down for 2days now. Yesterday he got up later with me and finished it as OH feeds him early before work.
Today he had to be hand fed or have scrambled egg.
However he eats his tea no problem and eats any treats given. Vitals all normal.

So now not sure what to do! I always panic when he doesn't eat he is a lab after all but he is eating as day goes on and still full of energy!
Think he just wants some extra attention and OH keeps telling me to relax ha ha
Anyone else's dog not eaten first thing but does as day goes on?

Only leave food down for 10 mins, if they don't eat it in that time pick it up and don't give it again until next meal time. Sounds like he is testing the water

My brothers lab is the same, he is indeed a dustbin lab but doesn't eat his breakie so now my brother just feeds a large meal in the evening and a small one in the morning. he's never looks better and seems happy with the arrangement.
My greedy lab would disown me if I tried taking hers away though!

You could perhaps try a different food of course and agreed leave the food down for 10-15mins and then pick it up.

Thanks guys! The first morning i didn't realise as we came down at same time and he finished it straight away.
He is back eating normally now- don't no what was up whether he had an upset tummy maybe! Normally more like gone in 60seconds so don't have to worry!

W have had issues with our lab (he's 4 now). He would do he same so we only allow him a certain time to eat it. We have had problems with getting his feed right and the only thing that's working is chicken and some plain ish biscuits (dry). He's not really got a bit appetite and never has done.

Thanks guys, he is entire, but no female dogs live near although i guess the wind could be blowing it in.
Yes i think he is being fussy but seems back to normal now. If he does it again will just remove food after 10mins.
Thanks for help

My lab girl does this too! She tends to go through phases but otherwise seems well in herself. Definately agree with only leaving the food down for a certain length of time

Well the phase is back in swing. He isn't even bothered that iv moved it away. Think may give more tea to balance it out? Is that sensible or not?
He tends to be sick if his stomach is empty long
