Being gazumped (pointless moan)

not self pitying at all!! buying a horse is bloomin stressful enough, just trying to find a horse even worth vetting is a chore without having an owner then mess you about:rolleyes:
Have you tried to phone the seller? i would purely to make them grow a set and tell you straight what is happening:eek:;)
 
Don't worry, I'd be exactly the same - buying horses is a serious minefield - if there's nothing wrong with the horse itself, it's the owners throwing a spanner in the works!! Best of luck!
 
I've tried contacting and so far heard nothing back. I always think of myself as not particularly fussy in my choice of horses but there seems to be so little within reasonable travelling distance I guess I must be!

I'm going to have to resort to a wanted ad, or go the Irish route at this rate.
 
It's interesting because there's always horses advertised 're-advertised due to timewaster,' and often that's probably the case, but sometimes it's likely to be the kind of thing you've experienced....I hope that you find your perfect horse soon x

Thank you, me too :) I'm having a pretty rubbish time at work at the moment and the thought of owning a horse again was pretty much keeping me going. Not that that's the seller's problem, of course.
 
It's just mean, if they know that the horse will fail (I'm speculating), or they no longer want to sell, or have a higher offer etc, they should just be honest, rather than letting you get your hopes up... although on the brighter side, at least it's saved you actually getting the vet out and wasting your money. :(

There's a chance the vet will be fine with it (and I'll be honest when I cancel, I'm not covering for the seller), but there's also a chance there'll be a cancellation fee. Just got to wait and see. And it's not as if the vetting was a surprise - I discussed it when I first contacted her.
 
If your vet does have a cancellation fee, maybe they would hiold the appointment for when you do have something that you like and want to vet again? Seller should be made aware of this, wasting your vets timeas well
 
To be honest this all sounds a bit odd...

If you've arranged a vetting - the vet will have contacted the vendor directly to arrange a time and date, so will have been in direct touch with them.

So unless your vets practice has phoned you to say they have had trouble organising the vetting, why are you stressing? I'd presume it was all booked and going ahead? Phone them and check.
