Please can anybody offer any help. My boy was cold shod yesterday afternoon. When I brought him in from the field, he was prickly on his feet (but not lame). At the time, the blacksmith did say that he might be abit sore. He did trim him quite short. This morning, he walked out alot better but I could do with some advice as I had planned to compete him at a dressage competition on Thursday. Any help would be greatly received. Could I still ride him but just on the grass so I don't have a over exhurbent nag in the arena?

If he is not lame then I would ride him, if he is lame then you cant compete him anyway! If he just seems a little footy then he may be better once you have done a little with him, try walking him under saddle and see if it gets easier and take it from there...........
