Heading to a castle estate grounds for a walk tomorrow with friend and also her friend with a Lab so brave pants will definitely be needed ?. I think it’s quite a popular dog walking spot for the locals.

I am pleased and relieved to say the walk at the castle went really well. It was a hairy journey there as my car hit black ice under snow and nearly slid into a telegraph pole at the bottom of my track. My stepson then came round a tight bend in the middle of the road trying to avoid a patch of ice and nearly pranged me. As if that wasn't enough, there was a farm collie running about in the middle of the main road who I just avoided having a collision with
Thankfully the rest of the day was much more enjoyable. There were plenty of people with and without dogs enjoying a frosty cold walk. The dogs were all very well behaved and Tay did me proud.
Beach walk next weekend.

Beautiful pics and very brave of you going out of your comfort zone. I too am anti social and its a massive stress. The scenery and the dogs are sublime.

I did join a local GSD walk last Sunday though and encouraged my friend to come along with her Cockerxpoodle (forgetting my friend is terrified of GSDs). She loves my Tia and adored my Sam. She did very well as usually there's up to 7 but there were 13 GSDs plus a Scotty.
I love the walks when I go but it's a big stress thinking about it and the people.

All lovely looking dogs ? are the GSD the same colour but different shades? If that makes sense ?
Thank you!
Yes they are all classed as grey, often referred to as sable (but that’s actually the coat pattern where each individual hair is two-toned or banded with black tips.). They can range from light to dark and these guys are all differing shades ?

Oh huge well done to you too and your friend. I’m not sure I’d be up for a huge group walk as I get stressed enough just meeting one or two ?.

I meant to ask whether his brother is as tolerant and all round wonderful as my friend’s boy? He really is a great ambassador for the breed in general ?
How old is your pup now?
I’m currently re-reading Two for Joy and whenever Puma is mentioned I think of you and your mother’s dogs.

He's not quite as chilled as Novak but he's pretty impressive. He has been wonderful with my pup, she is totally obsessed with him and mithers the life out of him and he just ignores her. He's also a very good influence when we are walking round town, markets etc as he ignores everyone/thing . She's 7 months now, and enormous - we got the classic "big paws" comment the other day :p

Norman sounds pretty perfect too! It’s great to have such a role model for younger dogs isn’t it. I’m already feeling my own confidence grow a little every time we’ve had a social walk and Tay’s behaved herself. She just half barked, half shook her ball at an overly friendly spaniel that pulled towards her (both were on leads) the other day but was fairly unbothered by all the other people and dogs we encountered so I was very happy.
We got the other classic comment “you’ve got your hands full” ?

Blimey, that’s a stressful time even before you got there! Think I’d have given up!
