Well long time since i've been out with Bud but i decided to take him to Rodbaston on Saturday for the Area 22 show.
It wasn't fun trying to get him clean friday night after work in his stable with rain hammering down outside (who'd have a grey horse!) but finally manged to make him sparkle and wrap him up in pyjamas and leg wraps!!
Set off to arrive 10.30ish for 2nd class and arrived to lots of horsesboxes and them still on the 1st class there were lots there! Had a cup of tea watched a few then finally they changed course for the 1.00m class. It was two phase and walked ok i decided to do a couple of tight turns if i went clear....
Anyway i went in 22nd to go and he was fab did lovely clear and then zipped round JO but i didn't ride silly, i lost bit of time collecting for last fence which was gappy upright but was very pleased with neat double clear. It was announced i was lying 3rd
then came evrybody else, it ended up with 65 in class!!! i found out it was a qualifier for Scope (i should read schedules more thoroughly) hence all the entries.
Finally line up was annoucned and we came 5th and qualified for Scope
so pleased not bad for an eventer out of 65 i thought!!!
I then went in 1.05m class which was very complex technical course, he jumped even better over bigger fences and went clear, in JO i just made mess of one turn and we had one down totally my fault but really pleased with how it went.
So all in all good day, just got to save up for Scope now!
This weekend back to Rodbaston for dressage, i've been persuaded to do both Novice tests!!!
Thanks for reading, anyone else going to Scope?
