Sorry to inflict my happiness on you all. :P

Hacked Belle out today and she was excellent overall, we took a friend to walk beside us (horseless). Belle walked towards me when I went to catch her, lead and tied very sensibly and was excellent to have her feet picked out. She used to walk away from me when she saw the headcollar and would fidget when tied or when having back feet picked out.

Saddle on was no probs (we usually do this first so we can focus on the tricky bridle bit!). Now comes her one bad bit - she took one look at the bridle and shot backwards, broke free and then reared and leapt about like a looney. She did some extra rearing today but after a minute or two she got it out of her system and was sensible again. I retied her and then the bridle went straight on. :) She stood still for me to mount, walked straight out the gate (even though her mate started calling) and was pretty much an angel from then on. She had one stop on the hack where she planted and turned on the spot because it's where there used to be a scary skip. I turned her back, asked and she walked straight on. She even walked past the village playing field without a problem and was brilliant with all the traffic, England flags and bikes etc and she stood as still as stone when needed, she would never stand quietly a while ago.

I am so pleased because it's a glimpse of what it could be like... hopefully minus the rearing episode, hehe! She got a lot of praise today so I hope it will continue. :D
