Belton Stallion Parade 2010

Fred99 appears to be based at Pelion, for example, and is doing nothing for that stud's credibility by this approach

Yes Jamesmead you are quite right I run the yard at Pelion Stud. Grafenstolz does stand here and so do 10 other stallions. I am not quite sure what you mean by 'this approach'?

I think for you to call me 'a troll' when you dont even know me is incredibly rude and more than a little unprofessional.

I will suggest Grafenstolz to people who are looking for a stallion because he is top class. All the grooms love him and he is a fantastic horse to ride. I am using him for my intermediate event mare this season.

Ken Rehill is a client of ours and as such I can comment as follows -

He speaks his mind - not always what one wants to hear but at least you know where you stand! He says please and thank you. He has a sense of humour, he doesn't have a mini nervous breakdown everytime something goes a bit wrong, he provides whatever is needed for his horse, he is always friendly when he comes to the yard, he chats to the grooms and pays his bills on time! I have run yards for nearly 20 years and wish all my clients were as easy to deal with!

I am nobodys troll and I do not slate anybody personally their stallions or their stud. I should be grateful if you would extend me the same courtesy

I beg your pardon, Fred99. Perhaps you are just a sunny laid-back person who sees everything in the best possible light, whether Graf's feet or Ken's behaviour. If so I have misjudged you for it seemed to me that you were simply backing up the earlier untruth re. whether or not Graf's iffy feet are a rumour.

I am not on this (social) forum in a professional capacity so can hardly have been said to have acted unprofessionally. In fact I am a mare owner, one of many, and therefore a potential client; you are the professional here, looking for custom for your stud. This is why it is so important not to gloss over a stallion's faults as you did previously (following hannahltb's sneering dismissal of concerns voiced about them); next time you give an assurance about this stallion or that, we mare owners wonder- is this the truth?

You seem to value outspokenness in Ken Rehill so I have replied in the assurance that you will extend that same courtesy to me. I regret I do not value Graf as a sire as much as you do, and I'm afraid I don't recognise Ken at all from your description; but I hope we can agree to differ on these points and move forward.

I went to Belton mainly to see the stallion parade, it would have been nice to see more stallions in attendance. Having 2 yearlings by FI and never having seen him under saddle in the flesh I was particularly interested in watching him and he didn't disappoint, he really is a stunning horse. He was a little fresh for a few minutes in the warm up but mainly very well behaved for a 6 year old and whoever thought it a good idea to have 6 stallions sharing an arena with pony club children and their ponies is beyond me. On parade he definitely had a presence about him, it was nice to watch him move & jump. Have watched his YouTube clip the commentator clearly says he ran an intro event towards the end of last year and had a double clear, not his first event.

Graf too was lovely to watch, when they eventually got him into the arena, he did not want to go in. He's a beautiful looking stallion and moves like a dream, I too took a few pics of him after the parade but I think Kerilli's pic is much more close up. I did notice his mouth was bleeding back at the lorry.

So for me just those 2 stallions stood out.

I'd forgotten about Graf's mouth, it looked as if he'd bitten his tongue tbh, it wasn't a corner-of-mouth bleed from the bit or anything.
N, here is FI's comp history, I think you can see why I thought it was a bit of a fib to state that he'd gone double clear round his Intro last year! Fwiw it was his first event, and the only BE event he did last year...

this sort of thing annoys me just as much as the claim that Graf was "World Event horse champion in x year"... no, he wasn't, that honour went to Toytown, for example. World Young Event horse champion, yes... i just don't like incorrect claims about stallions!
