Aunty tamar came out today to give ben his beginning of season massage... poor wee boy, he was fed hay from the ground to begin with but there was so much waste yo asked (understandably) for me to put it in a hay net, he became quite brutal with his eating, 2 small holed haynets, lunging and grabbing the hay with force, pretty soon I noticed his neck muscles had started to build up under his neck and his head carriage was higher, we have now switched to a hay hutch and his feeding behaviour is a lot calmer and obviously he is now eating from ground level again. However, the damage done to the neck was still there, his muscles under the neck are going down but poor boy his poll area was so tense, and he was not a happy bunny about having it worked on! Haynets! I flipping detest them! He was much happier and more comfortable when I turned him back out in the field bless him. So glad I had him done before we started work.

Not a fan of haynets either, mine snatches and twists and yanks her head. Got it tied on the floor now which is better but still not ideal, she's a good doer though so it's kind of either let her have it loose and she'll gorge or haynet and she jerks her head...

Also not a fan of haynets, while Buds has been on box rest i've been using a big holed net. However like you y/o kicked off over the waste... so now we are on small hole net again, really dont like it but what can you do...

Hope Ben enjoyed his pampering session though :)

Mines on box rest atm and he gets a large holed net in the day and on the floor at night. He does waste a lot - what he doesn't eat he poos on so I can't feed it to him again! - but I can't give him less and I'd rather he had waste than to enough :)

They are the work of the devil:mad:

Poor bud, hope hes ok x Yes, once he stopped striking out and running away from the 'pain' she was able to work on him, loosen him up and he relaxed right down... scared the hell out of us though, bought him in and he kicked his wall (concrete) very out of character and wouldnt put his foot down for about 1 min... he walked and trotted out fine though, flipping plank! Wont do that again in a hurry!

Buds mum/stencilface, I can recommend the Hay Hutch, I got mine for review from the company, but am so impressed I am going to buy a second one for the field. Theres more about my experience of it and some pics of how little waste there is here:
